Private tombs of the late 19th Dynasty and later tend to be small, often cut into areas of poor quality bedrock that earlier craftsmen would have rejected. Decoration in these  tombs tends to emphasize religious scenes and texts or representations of the funerary cult. Some of their scenes had formerly been restricted to royal tombs. But in spite of
limited subject matter and technical problems, talented artists produced bright and even lively scenes. Two good examples now open to the public are the tombs of Inherkhau and Shuroy.
